One of the most glamorous jewellery events of India, IIJW (India International Jewellery Week) has successfully concluded its four-day event organised by the Gems and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) recently. It started on a high note with Bollywood beauties sashaying down the ramp in glitter and gold, and proved as a favorable destination for buyers and designers alike as the latest in traditional and modern wear with diamonds, gold, silver and precious stones were presented for the upcoming bridal and festive season.
Here we are rewinding the highlights of the show, who-wore what for you so that you can also glam up yourself with latest styles and jewellery in the upcoming wedding season;
Neha Dhupia- The former beauty queen graced as a royal bride with heavy Polki and ruby earrings, necklace and maang teeka. Her complete persona hinted us that heavy jewellery is going to make its presence loud in the next fall. It is no more a rule to wear light jewellery with heavy outfit, take clue from other celebrities who also flaunted the same rule.
Chitrangada Singh- The actress looked drop-dead gorgeous in red net lehenga with traditional short choli. Her jewellery looked pure perfection. The kamaband (waist belt) and her nose ring have taken the outfit a few notches higher. She does look like a bride with a heavy diamond necklace. Her voluminous open hair, kohled eyes and confidence on the ramp gave the collection an electric makeover.
Dia Mirza- The eternally beautiful actress looked splendid and elegant in a beautiful orange lehenga sari and she walked the ramp for jewellery designer Shobhana. With her hair in a vintage updo with soft ringlets, the diva was seen in chunky jewellery set in diamonds, gold, pearls, emeralds and rubies.
Shri Devi- The 50-year-old actress was looking mesmerizing in a gold lehenga and choli teamed with an elaborate raani haar. She looked every bit royal as she walked the ramp. Besides the regal diamond raani haar, she also sported a square gleaming pendant, matching earrings, bracelet and ring.
The event saw a blend of traditional and modern bridal jewellery. After traditional bridal looks, modern brides got their share of trinkets to feast on.
Gauhar Khan- Big Boss 7 winner walked in a strapless white pleated maxi gown with a diamond-studded crown, bracelet, rings and a statement necklace with big emeralds to do the talking.
Kalki Koechlin- She kept her look simple in ruby hued off-shoulder dress with heavy gemstone necklace and matching earrings. Her looks was perfect for pre-wedding functions like sangeet, haldi and mehendi.
